The least used complementary color scheme by me was blue and orange... at least until this piece. I began with the intense blue Holbein Gesso as a background and challenged myself to transform all the colors. This piece is on a 3" deep gallery canvas and sits in my studio shelves and the "vibration effect" of the pure complements catches every visitors eye. It is quite the challenge to combine or add intense color, I prefer a softer palette, but I think I should employ it here or there to lead the eye.
